YOUR INVITED - This year, The City of Sydney will provide the official welcome to International Students in Sydney by a Virtually Event

The City of Sydney official welcomes International Students in Sydney each year, and you can join the event.

This year, 2021, the Lord Mayor's welcome will be held virtually on Hopin, making it accessible for people worldwide studying at New South Wales institutions.

In case you don't know, Hopin is an online events platform where you can create engaging virtual events that connect people around the globe.

Although the Lord Mayor's welcome is usually reserved for recent arrivals, the 2021 event is open to all international students to mark the start of their university journey. Lord Mayor Clover Moore will host the online event on Tuesday, 16 March.

A Welcome to Country by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers will start the event with a virtual reality tour of Warrane, Sydney Cove.

The welcome program has also been expanded to include a range of incredible online programs; please visit the City of Sydney What's On.

There will be virtual stalls hosted by local community organisations to learn about life in Sydney, wellbeing and welfare support services and other unique programs for students. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other students from around the world.

From 17 March, you can join a virtual

1. Resilience and Mindfulness workshop, introducing you to meditation

2. An online tour of Sydney's hidden gems

3. the Australian Sports Program, which provides an opportunity for you to learn about Australian culture through sport

4. An Indigenous Cultural Awareness Workshop to teach you about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and history
